Stupid Tank Maintenance Mistake!

Just think at least all your media was still clean. Mine was doing water changes with my 2 year old around, I use a pump to drain and the python to fill. It's a lot faster as I can be draining one while filling another. Well I was draining my 180 and was distracted working on another tank when my son thought it would be fun to pull to hose out of the sink. My older son called me with no urgency in his voice so I continued what I was doing, ooo ya. Ten minutes goes by and my kitchen is flooded with what I would assume about 50 gallons, I asked my older son why he didn't say anything or put the hose back in the sink and I got, well I called you. He is definitely his mothers son, lesson learned get rid of the kids before playing with water.

That's funny!

I was draining my tank to do a gravel to sand swap and I needed to move my 75g while fish were still in the tank with my buddies so we drained till about 20% left and then got called upstairs to eat. So I thought I took out the siphon but come down to water everywhere and about 3" of water left in the tank. Luckily for concrete floors and the siphon wasn't at the bottom of the tank so it stopped itself! And no fish was over 3" at the time so everyone was Still upright!
