Stupidest Thing I've Done...

So I thought I'd share this for all of your amusement. Today I bought another emperor 400 for my 55 gallon. Put BioMax in the extra slot and everything. Plug it in... nothing. Check it all out... Still nothing. Call customer support and they lead me through 45 minutes worth of stuff and everything. Then they tell me to try plugging it in one last time with my fingers crossed basically. I then realized as soon as I plugged it in that the light had kept coming on in my 20gal Long. Turns out this whole time I had been just plugging my light into the powerstrip wondering how in the world I got a dud filter. Needless to say that was hilarious to explain the the CSR.

Btw I have a 1" JD that is missing an eye and swims somewhat sideways. Do you think he will make it or should I just "euthanize" him to put him out of his misery?

I'm sure we've all done as bad or worse with the "Duh" moments like that...

The JD is obviously never going to be in ideal shape, but until he stops trying, I'd give him a shot. I've had several single-eye fish live decent lives. Not ideal, but not in misery either. Just keep an eye on him. If in your judgment he stops trying or seems to be in actual misery, go ahead and euthanize. But don't rush to judgment.

I have a eyeless cory at the moment, who can find food and swims around the tank without hitting things. I say unless you see a real reason to put him down I wouldnt.

Depending on how long you've had the little JD, I say you should probably give him a change, after all he is only an 1" ... Don't put him down just yet, unless you can tell he is major stressed out.. are you doing anything to help him heal?

lolz well i did something a lot stupider okay so i had a new play toy (magnum 55) it is a suckish gun, but i still bought it to play around in my yard and i brang it inside the house. I shot a can then i got bored and wondered y a can? so i got a vase, then i hit the side and it ricocheted off the side of the vase and shot my 125 gallon tank. I was freaking out and i had this blue that binds glass together to make a fish tank (if u like at the corners u see this paste ya) then i used it to seal the hole and it worked! I just saved my living room to be flooded and my fish. stupid huh.

Definitely try to keep the JD. I had a 1" fish with a single eye and completely torn fins. I nursed him back to full finnage, made sure he was eating, and put him in the main tank. He never grew over 3 months then finally got a huge open wound due to stress/bacteria.

It felt good to give the little guy a fighting chance!

Many a times ive plugged in my Fx5s and they didnt pump water. The first time it happen i ttok the whole thing apart and found nothing the tryied to turn it on still nothing. Then i fianlly noticed that i didnt open the valves on the hoses hahaaha. I always forget to do that. i even plugged it in once without the "out" hose fully attached and water shot up 8 feet and hit the ceiling hahaha. I laughed pretty hard with that one

I do that (both of those things, actually) all the time. My bedroom might as well be called Yellowstone for all the geysers I've had since putting the tank and FX5s in there...

Thank god im not alone on the Geyser issue haha. Love the Yellowstone thing.
