Useful input from Instagram from a white sturgeon peer keeper

the_rectum_spectrum: yes i saw your videos about their
passing as i follow your youtube page, very sorry. I think whites are
very hard to get to feed well. i feed mine high protein pellets as
well as a live culture of canadian crawlers, however i am pretty sure
they ignore the pellets 90 percent of the time. out of the three
species of sturgeon i keep they are definitely the hardest...

Bob the sole survivor of 3 white sturgeon started struggling this summer as the water warmed up to 84-86F. Lost appetite, looked sickly, stopped swimming a lot. (In a future video it seems to have turned around at 82-84F, but for now this...)

Failure to keep the white sturgeon at 72F to 82F long term. The last sturgeon 17 inches.
Could have been the pleco tank mates but I fed them well. At the beginning of the video on day 1 of the pleco arrival, one tries to rasp on the sturgeon but unsuccessfully and I fed them well as I said and didn't see anymore advances. But the day the sturgeon died, I was away for the whole day, so cannot vouch that the pleco didn't kill it. Yet, overall, I think the conclusion stands: white sturgeon are hard to impossible to keep at such temps.
