Andy, did you work at Freshwater Farms of Ohio in Urbana?
That I did for a couple years. I'm still out there every week or two as my buddy still works there and I know the family that runs it.

I never had any problem feeding my white and I had him for several months, but he got too hot in the summer and kicked it. At the hatchery where I used to work, there are 10 whites going on about 16-18 years old. The biggest is over 4' now. They are super cool fish. They actually kind of seem to enjoy petting and will eat right out of your hand
Those are TINY white sturgeon for that age. Must have poor water quality or small pond/tank lol. The white where I work is about 6 years old and about 6-7 feet long already.

You probably had the information wrong only. I been a white sturgeon fisherman my entire life, and to my knowledge from the Department of Fish and Game tagging and recording of white sturgeons. At 6 years old, they are actually under 3'. On average, it takes about 9 years for white sturgeon to hit 3' mark. And Andys is right, at the age of 16-18 years old. They would be around 4' close to 5'. A white sturgeon that is 6', your looking at around 25 years and up. 7' sturgeon...its hitting the 30's mark. They are long life freshwater fish, possibly the longest known in world wide(for me it is). Capable of living up to 150 years and over.

They have been considering trying paddlefish for a while. They even put in an order from a hatchery in Kentucky at one point I believe, but right before they sent them to us, the whole batch crashed. They are very fragile when small.

My friend Chance (Tiny D on mfk) has a pair of green sturgeon in his 3500g pond. Its in his backyard here in norcal :) They are around 8" cool little monsters.

I bet he didn't bought those greenies, he probably caught it off somewhere. And becareful, if you get caught of having in possession of a green you can pay a fine every bit up to $10,000. No green are in possession or to be sold at all time, they are probably one of the most endangered sturgeon species out there.
