Sturgeon

It's not a white sturgeon as they are a protected species prob starlet
 
I am also curious as to how this turned out. I highly doubt it's a white sturgeon, though. Maybe a sterlet, although probably some sort of hybrid.
 
I've tried several on warm water and only had one that did well. The Sterlet is most tolerant of higher temps. You'll need to feed sinking pellets and frozen foods like bloodworms.
 
I arrogantly kept a white sturgeon in a warm community tank, and the heated water wasn't bad on him. The only problem was as soon as I went to sleep, I woke up with a dead sturgeon, and an angry 'gator gar.

As for the tank issue, you've really no need to worry, about keeping him in the 55g for a bit, these guys take years & years to mature. My LFS keeps 5-6 of them constantly in a 80g display tank with motoro stingrays, and they're happy as a clam.

On a related note; WOW. You guys pay that cheap?! I got ripped off! Mine was $79.00... For a 3"..

I don't see any protection on white sturgeon, only see that people still fishing them ! Most of sturgeon are critical endangered but white sturgeon is not even threatened !
And I have read that a 6 feet long white sturgeon is about 25 years old, are they really grow that slow ?
