Ok great thanks and how are yours now?

your in cal its kinda getting late for them but mof ball fleet ive only cought a few small ones but my grandpa cetches them perty often in summer

make sure you realize they are a cold water fish, and require lots of aeration to keep the O2 levels up
you cant just put them in a tank with other fish

I don't have any now, and if I do they wold be dead already! the highest day temperature around here has been over 100 degrees for more than a month now!

Sterlets rarely get much over three feet in captivity.

If you are lucky enough to find Shovelnose sturgeon, they rarely get over 2.5 ft in captivity with a max known size of 4ft in the wild.

They seem to tolerate a wide range of temps.

Mine is in with bichers, cichlids, clown knife, and other tropicals and is doing great.
That tank is kept at 80F and he claims the whole tank as his territory, hand feeds, and eats like a pig.
