Sturgeons in warm temperature?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You guys new to fish keeping? Just because it works for now doesn't mean they will work for ever. Like Gill said they love for 40-150. 6 months in warm water Is nothing. There is a reason they are found in cold water climate and not in tropical weather. Its not by chance.

No. Sturgeon are not suitable for aquariums, and certainly not for tropical aquariums.
If someone tells you otherwise, do NOT believe them!

x2 Sterlets as suggested can sometimes be kept in outdoor koi pond type set-ups.. and I've heard of them living long lives in such set-ups ( one occasion an older gentleman who had the sterlets for going on 20+yrs...) But I agree they are not "aquarium" fish... and not tropical fish, no more then NA natives should be kept in tropical temps.
