Just a half formed thought but wouldn't it make sense to get rid/amalgamate some of the less used forums.
Then make up a few more. A sub forum for monster Fish, say 24+ inch only.
One for line breed and hybrids as a whole.
One for natural themed/biotope tanks.
Instead of just dividing the fourm up on different species, divide on the hobbiest interest as well.
I think a keeper with a south American cichlid based biotope has more in common with a keeper with a african biotope than someone who just happens to have the same species as him, same with the monster Fish category. Members who have fish from low traffic areas will have more chance to show there tanks off and join in discussions as well, eg large snakeheads, mbu puffers, etc.

Though none like what you are suggesting there used to be quite a few topic specific sub forums on MFK.A few of them did not survive the site upgrades or were done away with, possibly due to lack of traffic.

There's quite a few fish spp that don't fit very well in the categorys they have now, some of the big gobies, giant Gourami etc and with the rising popularity of biotope it could attract old and new members back to the website.

Well,"other monster fish" is the catch all section pretty much but I'm all for whatever that could be done to bring back old and new members.

I have had this thought as well. For example the crenicichla subforum is not very active, so I posted my crenicichla pics with my other CA SA cichlid pics, because I knew It would be seen by 10x as many people.
There's a few sub forums that are pretty quiet, if people can't talk or show off there fish then I would imagine some won't use the site.

I would like a wolf forum personally, seems to a few of us now.
I got the mini monster forum started a few years back, that's done pretty well.
I think a biotope, goby and giant gourami section would be good too, not sure about losing any tho?
