Submersible Aquarium Heater

Don't people put their heaters infront of the filter so the water carries the heat out through the whole tank?

If so, why can't I do that with my aquatic reptile heater?

yes i agree..... so it really does not matter where you place it in a aquarium, so it should do the same with the aquatic reptile tank.

i was just curious since drsfostersmith told me not to put the heater where the water hits.

You dont put the heater right in fron of the water output because the water hasnt got enough time to hit the heater, thus warming it. Its good to put the heater in a mild/soft current.

it's behind the rocks..i don't think the filtered water would hit it..

but would the heat carry out throught the whole tank in such a calm place?
I checked the temperature right on top of the heater and it wasn't that warm..

Do what I said and you should notice a boost in temperature over a few hours, if not less.
If the heater is in a place where is it recieving no water current, how can it distribute its heat throughout the tank?

I moved it next to the rock..i think it's a little far from the filter but it probably still has some current coming to it.. i'll check back tomorrow
