Everyone by now knows that the stealthpro heaters have been recalled, and we have all seen some of the damage done from them...

so i will soon be getting a 120 gallon fish tank, i was wondering on what you guys use for heaters, that are fully submersible...which are the most reliable, how long have you had them, and what wattage is yours??....Also the most important----how much did it cost :( lol thanks

want something impressive, jbj truetemp i have a 1000w and i was like wow this isnt any marineland (and for 200 bucks i should be crazy) but wow i was shocked

I trust nothing but the original. Check thrift stores, yard sales, craigslist. 9 out of 10 of these work perfectly and don't die.

that one isnt fully submersible is it??

i had one that had a fill line on it, and had bad luck...couldnt keep a steady temp...bought another one ...and i broke it, so i think im too mental to work one..lmao

the newer jagers are awesome aswel and they are fully submersible, the fluval E series heaters are great also fully submersible with digital display within half a degree

I've got three Eheim Jagers all fully submerged for over a year now, one 300W and two 250W, most of the lfs i go to use them, also they never drop below the temp set.

I use two 300watt Hydor ETH in line heaters on my 120g. I think it would do fine with just one since I noticed that I never even see one come on because it is set lower than the other. These are great heaters if you run a canister with a 5/8" line. They get the heater out of the tank for a more realistic look and a safer environment for your fish. They can be found for about $50. Otherwise a Jager would be a good choice with prices around $30 or less.
