submersible or external pump?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Check out the Laguna Max Flo Pumps. They are submersible, very quiet, reliable and their larger models have some serious flow. The best part about them is that they are some of the most efficient pumps on the market. They come with a 3 year warranty.

Mag Drives seem to be the pump of choice on this site, but I think that's only because people don't know about the Lagunas. Check out the specs below. The Laguna blows the Mag drive out of the water in terms of gallons pumped per watt of electricity consumed. The laguna uses 62% less electricity and give you the same flow.

Mag Drive 24 @ 5' head pressure does 1800GPH (per Danner MFG) and uses 265 watts
Max Flo 2400 @ 5' head pressure does 1796GPH (per Laguna) and uses only 100 watts

AZponds.com is having a sale on the Lagunas right now. The 2400 model is only $120, whereas the Mag 24s are around $200 at most places.

The Laguna 2400 is $80 cheaper AND it will save you some serious money on your electric bill every month. If you want 1,500GPH, go with the Laguna Max Flo 2000 which pushes 1,479 @ 5' of head.

Ditch the Mag Drives...they are energy hogs compared to the Lagunas.

Here's the link to the flow chart in case you are interested: http://www.azponds.com/laguna_maxflo_chart.htm
