Substrate and other for a 20 gallon (long perhaps)

Stock will be neons, cory cats, ottos, shrimp, and either pearl gouramis or something like Celebes rainbow fish. Also, what would y'all say is the best plant or moss to use to simulate a tree when attached to the top of some driftwood?

Since you dont want a moss that will grow too fast or you'll be forever trimming it...
