Substrate and Tank Ornaments for Aggressive Cichlids?

Thanks,I actually thought it looked a bit amateur lol.
I pulled a lot if the rock it and left the pipes and driftwood so there is more open space and the aggression in my tank has gone down hugely.
Although my Oscar eat a catfish....I didn't realize it was hiding under a rock, and it was a goner.

I've got the same footprint as you and my stock is pretty similar. My fish don't have aggression issues though. I give them driftwood, gravel substrate, and plants. I have found better results by breaking up the line of sight for them.

I think you need to take out some of the cats and plecos for sure. Your syns will be one of the most aggressive, same with the Oscar most likely.
If you add the fish when they are young enough, they are more likely to get along. You just need to figure out the right balance of decor and inhabitants over time. It could work though.

How many cats would you leave?
I am selling the Gibbi and the alligator/rhino and was going to keep the gold spot.
There is also 2 10cm Gibbi I am going to keep.
Also going to get rid of 2 of the featherfins, and possibly a30cm bgk...

I would get rid of the gibbis, featherfins, gator cat. Keep the loaches and gold spot. The loaches are better cleaners than the plecos and cats.
Ultimately, it is up to you. That's just what I would do. I've got a gibby and I know how he likes to work...

I was actually thinking of getting rid of the super sized Gibbi, and the gator, the bgk.
