I use melania snails..they bury in substrate themselves during the day,at night they come to surface and eat leftovers :)

In the market you could get like 35 half a kilo with this, I forgot that they're my cleaners in my Oscar tank. Good one D. Wolf! Do the required quarantines first!

It's not what you asked for, but I no longer have to brush off driftwood and it always looks great. I don't have any plecos.
The best driftwood cleaner in my tanks has been adding the probiotics spoken about in this thread:

if you can find a safe product form in your country, consider trying some.

Thanks for the suggestion! Will be putting more research. :)

Ghost shrimps, easy to breed, easy to replace. What's more they can be poly food in advance. Or Geos, I found in cartimar again that's in sub-adult stage, P400 each I think dunno might be more, near pet smart.

Dont think theyd be any good as cleaners. Theyd turn more like feeders to my gar and lap. I tried them before and they hide all day. If they go out at night, my fish would still get them cause my polys are nocturnal. Plus theyre like 50 cents each (20 pesos) here. Thanks for the suggestion tho. :)

Great idea! I think I'd try going with snails. Yeah as EC stated, theyre really cheap here. And I was planning on getting a dwarf puffer as well so if ever the snails over populate, I can always feed them to the puffer. :) Not sure how to qt them tho

I've never had a large predator tank and don't know how well they would do in one, but bristlenose plecos are great cleaners. You would have to get them full size at 4-5 inches. Royal plecos are really cool but don't really clean glass. They thrive with wood and in fact, its a necessity for them. Royals will get to about 10 inches and are generally pretty peaceful.

Beyond that, I would go with snails. Sifts sand, cleans everything and is a food source.
