substrate for your polys

using gravel in my 55 but, have black sand in my 75 just waiting to finish cycling.

Bare bottom
but i have an issue on that coz one of my Palmas at home lost its coloration/pattern, so I considering on putting black or other colored sand to maybe bring out its body coloration again (any opinion on that guys would be appreciated)

Sand. For me bare bottom is ugly (just my opinion) and I lost one to gravel, never again.

i use pool filter sand... its a mix between tan, black, brown and white... like course beach sand. my polys love it.

currently on light colored sand, but their color is kinda washed out, so want to add some black sand to help bring it out.

Sand is better, yet people still use gravel; including me. My bichir is fine and eating
