Substrate

Hey guys,

Just wondering what substrate people are running in their CA setups? I'm setting up a 100G (6x1.5x1.5) soon and can't for the life of me decide what substrate to use...

I like filter sand. The kind used in swimming pool filters, to heavy to get swept into filters (most of the time) and keeps detritus on its surface where it can easily be vacumed up during water changes. Also easy on the mouths of diggers.
Also use it in my planted sumps.

Yeahhhhhh I've got pool filter sand in 2 of my african tanks at the moment, and don't think I really want to go that way again... The whole detritus sitting on the surface thing really doesn't appeal to me haha.

At first I thought "Hey this is great, it's easy to see where I need to clean!" but now I think I'd rather just NOT see poo all over the place and accept the fact that I need to clean the substrate regularly..
