I wouldn't recommend using any corydora catfish to stir the sand, especially if he has a large catfish that will eat them. ;) secondly because corydoras have very sensitive barbels over the mouth that need fine sand that has no rough edges. A lima catchfish should stir the tank well enough IMO.

OP since your on the east coast why not go with leslies pool filter sand? It's a good product allot of members use and it looks the best on the east coast from the pics I've seen, wash it lots. GL :D
 
I bought mystic white... 10 bucks 50lbs... another member on site had it too so i knew it would look good... and you want to talk about settles... i should video tape this... i can stir up the hole tank and it just drops down and goes crystal clear in 30 sec... not joking!! i can't believe i was so scared about going sand!! ill have pics when tank is done!
