I have just rescued some leo geckos. And it has been some time since I have had a gecko. What is the best substrate to use for leos?

Thanks in advance for any help

Slate tiles, unprinted newspaper, unused butcher paper, paper towels, reptile carpet are probably the most common of the best substrates for them.

I use reptile carpet; but I've got a tip for you.

I noticed that my geckos chose a far corner of the cage to poop in. I lay down a paper towel in that area, and they end up going on that. A paper towel litter box so to speak. Just change out the paper towel every few days, and your cage stays pretty clean. You still want to break it down periodically to disinfect, but it really keeps things clean and the smell from them down a lot.

Geckos like to poop in the same place. They designate an area as a litterbox. News paper will work fine. It isn't pretty but it works!

A lot of lizards do that...or they'll use a waterpan.
