I prefer Eco Complete myself. I also use Volcanit, it's a great looking substrate, and my crypts really seem to like it as well.

eco complete is good. i use regular gravel from lowes. really cheap looks nice.

Do they come in black? i want a dark color that way it will enhance my fish's color, i have a neutral and i'm getting tired of it doesn't do my fish justice, had dark substrate b4 but no plants and my fish looked awesome especially when food hit the water everyone would try to be the boss and show off . it will also help my plants grow a nd root themselves better.

They only come in the color that they come. Eco is almost black, which is probably what you are looking for. Volcanit is mostly dark, with a few shades of dark red, dark orange, etc. Looks really good.

A few of the ADA aquasoils are very dark, and are much better than eco-complete.

i recommend Flourite or ADA Aquasoil
