is there a difference between hikari cichlid gold (which is what im using) vs. massivore delight vs. carnivore? besides price. i wanna use massivore delight but its just so expensive

True. Yes you just starve them til death. They wont starve. Eventually they will be so hungry that they will have to eat it.

I would say no more than 4 days depending on the temps your keeping them at but I for one wouldn't risk it. Just wait for them to get a bit bigger than you can try to starve them if you have to. It can take weeks and even months for them to take new food, but if they are mouthing the pellets then that's a step in the right direction. Just soak the pellets in what ever your feeding them now and they will slowly learn to take the new food.
