Okay So lately i have been on a rampage about learning how to breed select fish, and finding out which are the more difficult vs. which are the easier kinds of fish to breed...Also which require certain parameters...and which fish i could sell for the most if i chose to do so

SOOOO lets hear everyones success stories, on either purposefully or accidentally breeding fish, how long you have had them, how long it took them to breed (if purposefully trying to do so), and how much you have sold them for in the past...unless you have kept them...thats cool as well...

If you focus on breeding--how many tanks do you have, and what size??

THANKS :D

one year I bred Julidochromis transcriptus in a 5gallon they bred like convicts.. I think i will try a another type of Julidochromis again...:)

they look cool too, did you do it on purpose? or was it just luck?
i think just luck. This was in i think 2004.

From easy to fun so far, I'll list them. I'm still in my early stages so most species I've bred are the easy ones, for training.

Guppies (who hasn't)
Bettas
Betta simplex, mouthbrooding betta
Angelfish
Marmorkrebs (again, no challenge, and not a fish)
Colombian tetras
Paradise fish
I conditioned my male ancistrus for my friend's (jray33) female and the pair spawned in two days.
I'm probably forgetting one somewhere...

Next stop for me is spawning L200.

thats awesome knife...ive never touched any of the lighter easier fish to breed, i wanted to jump in headfirst...and ill probably fail lol..but at least im gonna have fun trying haha

We are trying to breed for sale to stores and have hooked up with a importer and wholesale out let. We have 62 tanks up and running now over half of which are holding various sizes of fry. Have bred convicts, red jewels, neon jewels, red devils, fossochromis rostratus, blue dolphins, endlers.ruby greens, electric yellows, nebulis, kendalli, tropheus, nicaraugans, gold guaramis, splendens. festae, red texas a project we are working on and several specieses of peacocks there maybe more just can't recall right now. Our biggest tank is a 230 and our smallest 10's a hobby that got out of hand and we can;t quit because we would have to haul all those tanks out of the house.
