This is very interesting, proving some centrals can hybridize with some SA cichlids. Convicts can spawn with green severum as well, though (I used to have some), so I'm not sure this is evidence you can generalize to show SA x CA hybrid potential, but is instead, great evidence of convict's strong genes. In other words I still think its not likley that CA & SA can cross with other "cichlasoma", but it is very likley that convicts can cross with other small south american species.

I am going to attempt to take pictures tonight to show the growth and coloration in these fry. Also for anybody who would like one of these specimen I can ship them out. It has become a little crowded now that they are growing to sizes of two inches or more.
