Chop night crawlers up than dice shrimp or smelt into small parts and let the nasty worm guts marinade into the meat. Than trick him like that. Took me very little effort to get my tiger to take like this my flower was a bit more pain in butt and only took earth worm for about 2 years

I'll definitely have to do that soon just simply to save a bit of coin. nightcrawlers and pellets add up quickly and I would love to throw some shrimp in the mix.

Pellets are horrible for training rays off live. My friend Jason has a good method .put a hole in the pellet and tie a work around it. Or get it on smelts or shrimp and put a pellet in it.

Congrats! I kept a pair of reticulated rays a year or two ago and for the whole year I had the male and 6 months I had the female, I could not get them to even look at crawlers, shrimp, or pellets. The other fish in the tank ate them just fine but the little rays never even touched them. I know how you felt having to go every weekend to the fishstore and having to keep gross little worms in your fridge. And pellets, even better!

what worked for my flower was soaking the pellets in there favorite food. until the pellets were soggy. Feed the pellets only and if they dont eat it do it again for several days in a row. eventually they will take it. dont give in after trying the pellets make them starve.
if they dont after a few days give them some of there favorite food again and repeat. my flower ate massivore and cichlid gold primarly.

I have had my female flower for about 8 months or so now and have finally broke her off of live black worms! It took me 3 attempts using the starvation method and she has successfully took chopped Canadian night crawlers 2 days in a row now.

Just wanted to share my excited because I am so sick of buying and ordering live black worms. The amount of money I have spent on those has been ridiculous.

how about an updated picture?
