Suck wounds from Pleco...

was the pleco properly fed?
 
i heard of chinese algae eaters doing this and i witnessed my clown loaches sucking on my red hump geo which died.not sure if the loaches killed him or he was just on his way out anyway.I wouldnt doubt it though
 
this usually happens when plecos arent properly fed.
 
This is not the first I have heard of aggressive plecos. From time to time you get one that has a taste for slime coat. It is commonly mistaken that Plecos are strictly herbivorous. I have seen them eat dead fish, and I have even seen them swim upside down at the surface and take floating pellets.

This guy would eat prawns, mussles, scallops, beefheart, Food Sticks, Massivore delight....anything the big cats and Aros would eat...Plus Algae waffers, Kiwi, cucumber...
 
I had a similar issue with a pleco and my bichirs. Apparently, the slime coating on bichirs must of been appetizing.
