I just bought a 60 gallon tank but have no stand. I decided to put it up on my desk but was wondering if it is sufficient enough. Afterall, I don't want 500 gallons worth of water on my bedroom floor someday.

What do you guys think?

In my opinion it should be fine. Is the back paper or solid wood? If it's solid it will be good enough for sure. If paper I might be a little worried. Good luck.

fine. I had a 3 ft tank on a tv unit. Whats goin in it????????

Looks fine just keep it dry and it will last years. I used to keep a 55g on a dresser for over 10 years with some spillage. The last two years of it's 'tank stand' usage it was starting to warp though. Tank got a leak and had to get another stand.

looks strudy to me

I can't see a problem with it there
