sugestions for frozen food

have u guys ever herd of feeding scallops to dats. im not much of a sea food eater so dont no much about it just could be another potential meaty food for them.

Yup, scallops are part of my routines with all of my tanks. The dats eat it, but they really seem to prefer krill, market shrimp, and bloodworms the most.

The one thing you have to be careful with when feeding these guys is the hight levels of oil. It can really place extremes on the biomass of the tank. If you do feed oily fish like that, I would do it just before a scheduled water change.

very related matter:

when you starve em are you supposed to go a week or two and then give em a little bit of whatever food they do like and try another week or two or do you just straight up not worry about them and if they eat they eat?

I had one that would not eat anything but night crawlers and I wanted him to eat shrimp.I starved him for 2-3 weeks and then would give him a few night crawlers,then starve again.I did this for almost 3 months with no success.

Should I have been not sneaking him the couple of night crawlers once in awhile?If I hadn't done that would he most likely be eating the shrimp by now?

at one point he went a month between nightcrawler feedings...still want interested in shrimp......
