Suggest a Knife for me..

IMO, I think that CKs are more active and less shy. They do get big and if you're thinking of schooling fish, you're better off with Tinfoils and not Congos. They'll end up becoming lunch for the CK. BGK would be safer, but I think over time, it'll be more outgoing after awhile.

The reason I was planning on congo tetras or something comparable is for their color, I plan on running powerglo bulbs and I'm sure they would look sweet in the lighting.

I'm not 100% set on getting a knife yet but I'm interested enough so far.

I have some Congos with an African Brown Knife. They average 8" and they're not too shy, but they are shy. Mine is out all the time. I believe I read somewhere that they form shoals so you can probably get a few and it would look really nice. I have an African Oddball tank with 12 Congo Tetras, 1 African Brown Knife, one Leopard Leaf Fish, and one lace Catfish.

ck's are by far the coolest and most outgoing, but they get big really fast. if i were you id get a bgk, some are really active and some arent though.

mine is out all the time too now, just took him a while.

ck's will eat congo tetras the first instance they get.

get a bgk i went to my lfs today and i was planning on getting a ck but then i fell in love with the bgk they are so cool and it is very social it never stops moving and loves to greet me. every time i walk in the room. it barely ever hides.

haha,thanks for the reminder. between work, a 2 year old boy, and a 7month pregnant wife no honeymoon right now. honeymoon or not im always on mfk
