suggest MEANEST Cichlids for a 400G tank

Oh ok. See I wouldn't have knowen that. I personally have never owned one but what I've heard their mean as all hell. I guess black nasty can be scratched off then unless placed with a slightly smaller stock so its dominant.

@prashan what are the tanks diamentions?

Neets (Neetroplus nematopus) are Central American cichlids... I think the fish you are maybe thinking about are Tropheus dubosis that come from Lake Tanganyika.

Preferrably of 1m in width and height and 2.5m in length so the volume to be approximately 500G

An Umbee Pair would be awesome.

A community of Vieja would be cool too.
Argentea, Black Belts, Synspilum, Zonatus, etc.

Lots of options
 
What about a firemouth breeding Colony? Or neet, hrp, and convict breed colony. I think that would be cool to see.

You got to remember that if you get a single large beast fish like a Dovii or Umbee your tank will be turned over to them for at least 15 years and the idea of a Neet colony to add interest. If you can afford the patience needed then of course the reward is great. a huge talking point. However, if you decide to go for a collection of smaller fish that would reach their full potential in a large tank you got rewards in other ways. The pleasure of seeing these fish thrive and breed and interact amongst eachother - they'd also be reaching sizes only seen in the wild.
