Setting up a 125 with heavy filtration.

I'd like a pretty aggressive individual fish or maybe 3 or so max depending on their max size.

Considering a Dovii, jaguar, red devil, etc.

Is there a combination of maybe 2 or 3 that would work?

The tank is too small long term for Dovii, If you want an aggressive fish with lots of character on its own, from your list I would recommend the red devil.

If the 125 is going to be the only tank (no upgrades) IMO Male Dovii and Jags are out, they will not live for life in a tank that size. A Trimac is a good choice or any of the Amphilophus (sp) species would work.

standard 125 at 18" width will not work for a dovii and would be horribly cramped for a jag.

other than that I don't keep cichlids so I have zero suggestions lol, I just put a piranha in a new 125 lol.

Id go maybe R/D, Midas or GT's are great if you like them, totally agree with other comments way to small for Dovii long term, my guy lives in a 375g and I'll be upgrading when I can, when they get big they really need huge tanks to thrive. Never had mini Dovii so can comment on them
