I want to add some additional Mechanical filtration to my 240. What are some suggestions for mechanical filtration setups? I know lots of people like the HOT Magnums, but even with two of them, thats only 500 gph, which I feel is too low for my tank. What does everyone think? Thanks

If you have a sump, filter socks are a great mechanical filtration addition on tank outflows. There's one hanging to the left, one almost hidden behind the ball valve, and another right of center. I rinse them daily (or almost) and bleach them about once per week. These are 150-200 micron, @ $4.00 each.

I'd say a ac110 or 2 would do the trick could even add a canister filter

Yeah have a piece of 100 micron filter pad in my drip tray for my wet/dry, but I want something more yet. Thanks guys, keep'em comin

If you want polished water and the best mechanical filtration there is then pick up an Ocean Clear cannister with 10 micron cartrage and a good pressure rated pump in the 1000 gph range.

Nah, not really looking the polish the water. See the 100 micron filter pad that I have in the wet/dry works great, so I dont see a need to filter out particles any finer than that.

Then why ask for extra mechanical filtration if your willing to put up with what you have now?

What I mean is that I dont need to polish the water! I want to know what other filter or setup I can use, in CONJUCTION with what I already have, thanks.
