Suggestions for my 90 after Major Losses

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Recently lost my foot long Texas hybrid "wet pet" and decided to go with "friendlier" cichlids because I was tired of the constant fighting. Picked up a red severum and a firemouth today and ordered a chocolate Cichlid and 2 rainbow cichlids from my LFS. I'm hoping they all get along in my 125. Good luck and I hope you can save the rest of your fish.

Thanks everyone

I may have spoken too soon. Checked on them after work last night. GT is hanging on. Still looks really bad... eyes are white and peeling and he has white all over him. BUT, He was out swimming and noticeably more active. If he survives I have no idea what the long term effects might be from this. Lost 3 Tiger Barbs but everyone else seems to be hanging in there

I did 30% water change and re-medicated again

Will chek again after work today. Cross your fingers and thanks for the comments!

thats nice stock selection ...well done...

sorry to hear about your losses! I had a slightly similar situation happen, when I meant to turn my heater up, and instead cranked it down (was doing too many things at once).... Luckily, I didn't have to deal with ICH. As for a selection, I would like to offer the red isletas. I have a pair of them that are completely awesome and really interactive. Good luck with the rest of your fish. I hope they all pull through!

If you do lose them consider discus.
I think you'll be fine but still consider discus. I never though I'd keep them because they just aren't my style. I tried something new and different to me and I love them.

So Headrush2 GF here and we are still feeling the pain of the dreaded ich... lost the last clown loach last night :(

The GT has what seems like contacts on his eyes and is blind. Is this a side effect of ick/ich or is this something else altogether? Been doing a minimum of 30% water changes daily and daily treatments. Heat is at 85 and holding for 4 days.

help.
