Suggestions for Stocking 150 gal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah dude, I've decided to go on these that I'm gonna list:

Heros sp. rotkeil
Geophagus abalios
Caquetaia spectabile
Aequidens patricki

I was gonna go with a few oscars but a combination such as this would end up being more interesting. I'm gonna lay off the pike cichlids for now, because I'm really trying to research these as much as possible. Hopefully a lFS will have one at one point or another. My tank is still cycling :(, but I'm hoping it'll be done soon before all these beauties are gone.

Thanks again though

No prob. The Caquetaia spectabile are a predator...just FYI...and they do have relatively large mouths...at least I know kraussi does.....same family. Should be aight since they are all the same size and it would have to be at least twice the size of the other fish to eat them. Best of luck to yaz! If you do end up finding a pike u like be sure to check in here so we can make sure it will work out for yaz...some are pretty 'nasty' and can wreck havoc on a tank...lol

i have an abino oscar there great but what a wild oscar well i know but why not get captive breed

Wild takes the cake EVERY time...if you have the chance to get wild...TAKE IT. They have bette colors, better personalities, more robust, more pure, better blood, captive bred can't even begin to compete.....

I actually have a question referring to the cichlasoma oblongus, whats your opinion on those. I really like the coloring and if so, with the list I had, I would probably replace it with the emerald green acara.

If u were willin to pay the extra cash...I would say try and get some Hoplarchus psittacus! AWESOME CICHLIDS!! I have four myself..pretty rare and totally awesome! Bit pricey though....but u get em from the right peeps and u can get a great deal...;)....*cough*
