forgot to say there that good i had to raise the light higher to stop my coral bleaching as it was that bright compared to the old t5's

the brand i use is called reefbeam, dont know if there available in the states but mine cost approx £650 ( $1000) have adjustble mount 20"-30" can be used for opentop or mounted inside the hood, got mine with a timer/dimmer function that mimiks sunrise/set,moon rise, hope this helps

hmm. that sounds good, but the price is a bit high. I'm not going crazy on this tank so I would like to stay on the cheaper end. I actually think I may go with those LED strips or an AquaticLife HO T5 two-bulb fixture. The AquaticLife fixtures don't have the LEDs, but I figured I could always add or retrofit the fixture with some LEDs to get the shimmer and extra light. I would use a 10000K and Actinic in the AquaticLife then probably use the 10000K/Actinic LED strip for extra light and I think it would highlight the tank real nice.
