alrighty, so we're getting the bathroom renovated atm, and i'm keeping the bathtub that will soon be replaced to use as an extremely cheap (i.e free) pond. Now it probably holds 250-300 litres when filled up. Anyone have any ideas as to what to put in it? (bear in mind i'm already breeding guppies in a smaller tank) im looking for either something large that breeds frequently (my eel eats a lot) or something that would live quite happilly in it by itself or with one or 2 other tank (tub?) mates (also preferably it eats tadpoles as well, cos living in Queensland, theres an absurd amount of cane toads, and im not too sure if the little bastards will be able to get into the tub or not to spawn).

um id make darn sure that you get ALL the soap and chemicals out of the tub... infact i wouldnt trust the tub to begine with. thats just me though

i'm not too worried about the chemicles, my grandmother has used one for years as a goldfish pond with no ill effects, but i am gonna spend a while cleaning it out over and over just to be sure.

I wouldn't worry about the chemicals/soap give it a good wash down with either a light bleach and water solution or white vinegar and water solution, tubs are water proof any residual chemical should easily be washed out. Good luck with whatever you decide to put in your tub.
