So I'm in the process of setting up my 4ft tank, It holds approximately 300Ltrs of water. My filtration will be 2 canister filters that do 2,000 Lp/H each with built in 9W uv. So 4,000 Lph/H in total turning the tank over roughly 13 times an hour.

What would you suggest for predatory fish? Ive had a few over the years but want some ideas for unique animals.

Hujeta gars/pike charachins. They look like mini gars and will eat live foods like guppies. You can keep them in a group and they should do well in that big of a tank if you get the species that only gets about a foot long. Although they need a bit of a slow flow I think.

Pike livebearers would be pretty cool too if they are legal where you live. They will also eat live guppies as well.

Hmmm.... Medium sized cichlids... Greenspot/figure 8/dwarf puffers...

A crappload of female bettas and one male? LOL

Good suggestions so far.
I recommend pink tail chalceus.
Very attractive predators when fully grown.
+1 for sure!

I'd also like to suggest upper jaw polypterus, or African knife fish for something cool ;)

Good ideas Ive just had a look at them. Ive got a fire eel in my other tank and I was thinking of having the FireEel in the mix too.

Not big enough hey? Fire eels get huge. Personally I wouldn't keep anything larger than a chalceus in there
