I have a neighbor who had a similar issue, he got a big watergun, and after a few soakings, the dog decided it didn't like his backyard anymore.

and kids shouldn't be in my yard to begin with..
Hello; While I agree with you around here the homeowner can be liable even if kids (or people ) trespass.

but by gosh I'll crack it if they do!)
Hello; OK please tell me what "crack it" means.

only imagine the horror they'd cause to my poor fish if they knew they were just sitting there. :(
Hello; With you there. Had students wipe out tanks before.

By "crack it" i mean I won't be happy. Cracking the sh*ts is an expression used here for when one is finally at the end of their rope, they "crack it" :)

Actually if your main concern is not killing the dog animal care and control is a bad choice. If it's chipped that's one thing but strays have a very poor track record in shelters. Get an ultrasonic motion detector alarm. Roughly $30 on amazon. It should keep both the dog and other stuff away.

"I have a neighbor who had a similar issue, he got a big watergun, and after a few soakings, the dog decided it didn't like his backyard anymore." I know 3-4 dogs that would immediately become your best friend. Given that this little guy wants to go swimming not sure it'll help.

I've dealt with this in the US. I took the dog to the local PetSmart and had her chip checked, had a "home safe" or some such. Then about a hour later got a hysterical call from a mom. Apparently the little girl belonged to a disabled little girl, ear tat so an actual registered service dog. So that's my default, unless it's trying to kill me I don't go anywhere near ACC. You never know what that dog story is or who needs it. Yes based on my avatar you can guess i'm bias.

I've blocked off all the holes in my fence (I may as well have built a new fence) and I don't think the dog can't get in the yard any more, if it comes back (it hasn't yet) I'll know for sure.

I'm hoping it found its way back to whoever owns it. :)
