Suicidal fish

Has anyone ever had a suicidal fish? I had a zebra danio who loved to jump all day. I have never seen one that liked to jump before. I kept a close eye on her, but she didn't seem stressed or sick. She seemed quite happy.

I was watching her last night, and she took a heck of a jump right into the aquarium lid. She seemed really stunned, but started swimming after about 5 seconds. I found her dead an hour later. Could it have been because she injured herself in that jump?

I had a retarted Channa that I had to resue over four time from under neath my bed....
SOB was an escape artists at best-Thought I had the top toally sealed-But on the fifth jump-He decided to prove me wrong....

I keep my tank covered well, but that didn't help my fish either. I even tried to float plants on top, as someone suggested that would help keep her from jumping, but it didn't work. I understand fish jump, but she was ridiculous with it!
