I wouldn't be me if I wasn't stubborn lol. I do remember the sites being quite legit, not wiki btw. We do feed him timothy hay on a daily basis and I am cutting back on the lettuce and like I said I'm gunna grow fresh grasses for him. I'm also keeping his intake to about 1/4 of a cup a day.

Has anyone seen a cat get way too into a tortoise? My cat rolls all over him and meows constantly and its a stranger meow than normal. I dont get it. Is it some sort of weird tortoise cat nip thingie? lol Any ideas?

What I want is something more of this kind:" Sweet Coura, I trow that stupid letuce away just like you told me to, I also brougth a nice hibiscus pot and I plan to start using its leafes and flowers this summer". And now your letting your cat using your baby tortoise as a cat chewtoy
Good, good dont lissen to me or anybody else be yourself. But dont complain if you arive home to find your tortoise half eaten or if it does survive, to endup with a beautifly piramidized tortoise with kidney and bone problems...

It's just when I do have him out the cat gets all rolly poolly and kinda looks like when they get stoned on catnip. And I said we feed him timothy hay. I havent given him any lettece, I was just giving you a hard time...its in my nature. But btw check out my DIY idea in the DIY section(go figure). Its simple enough for the little guy right now and if he outgrows that within the next 1 or 2 years we'll make additions.
I wouldnt trust any cat near any reptile of mine for any amount of time, cats can do horrendous damage to small animals in the blink of a eye Thats nature thats what they do. Also Ive seen numerous cases of lizards and turtles with cat hairs stuck in their digestive sistem, eyes fingers,etc. And you arent supose to free roam such young toises, their place is in the terrarium untill they grow quite a bit... At least you give up the letuce, that´s a start

At least you give up the letuce, that´s a startIt's just a roam on the couch with a blanket wall around him so he doesnt fall off the edge and I'm always right next to him when he is walking around and I always keep the cat from getting too close to him especially the face. I wouldnt let a one or two ounce tortoise walk around a house with 2 cats ever.
