Sump Advice for 300gal (Pics Included)

You beat me to it...That is old school wet dry. Late 80's, early 90's time frame. Not really that old but in terms of where we are now...it's old school. They work very well though! As Utaka said you should ditch the rolled media...it's a PITA to deal with. The spinners will also clog on a fairly regular basis. I had a nearly identical unit on a 110 xtra high 15 years ago...it did great but the spinners constantly stuck. I finally just put in drip trays. Great find!

Heres a few pics ive found interesting and based mine on, no pics of mine, will take some, its a 55 gall, with about a mile of HDPE strap for media, the stuff that holds pallet loads, bundles of cardboard, it has lots of uses, hdpe is high density polyethelene plastic, i got a 40 pound roll of it free from work

hope these help, everyone wants to help, but i think the "old school" set up throws the local experts for a loop

I thought this topic was dead. LOL. Still haven't set it up yet. My supplier is dragging his ass on making my overflow. Feh!
Anyway, I'm ditching the rolls and will be putting the potscrubbers in the towers. I'd like to cut two big peices of foam (like the ones in AC's) for a prefilter on top of the potscrubbers, but can't find the faom anywhere. I asked BA's and they didn't know where I could get it either.
As for the spraybars, I'll wait and see how much of a PITA they are before I go with the drip tray.
I still haven't decided what to do with the bottom portion either, it's not really partitioned or anything.
I'll probably get a big cannister to supplement it anyway as my pump is only rated for a little less than 1200/hr and the tank is 300gal.
