I was thinking I would use my 125 as a sump for my ~300 tank and then I thought, hey, why not make it a 2nd display tank? I could keep some discus or tetras or something else down there! I was wondering if anyone had ever seen or done anything like this so I drew up a picture in about 20 seconds to see what it may look like.
I would have a large heavily planted area (nitrate control) and a tower area with mech, and bio filtration, and then a pump section. Cabinet doors would cover the equipment sections leaving the planted area as a tank under my large aquarium. I would also be running my canister filters so I dont think lack of media would be a problem.
I already have a mini version of this on my 125 using my smaller sump but I do not have it set up as a display, just a planted sump with some ghost shrimp.
What do you think? Impossible? Stupid? Amazing?
