Didnt think about the Sump size Lol. I guess I ran off with it since I looked into doing so in the overflow of my 300. Tight squeeze so I passed . Just never thought of adding another hole outside of the Overflow area Lol.
Man, why you trying to wake up the 300... its sleeping nice right now haha

What i have decided to do is build in a little overflow limiter. It will be adjustable. I would like to limit have the size of the slats so that i still have surface skimming. And yes ill probably have a canopy eventually....

It sounds to me like was said your overflow cannot keep up with your pump so your option is do some mod on the durso or cut back some flow on you pump.....Your drain is not draining fast enough and your tank is Overfilling. Get rid of that VALVE on the drain IMO or open it UP

Put a valve between the return pump and the tank To balance the flow
I use a HOB CPR overflow with a 1-1/2 bulkhead with a DIY venturi on my magdrive 2400 to keep the syphon going and get it started if the power goes out.

this is how it goes:
Overflow-->drain pipes-->sump--> then it hits the MAG2400--> Union ball valve cut back 1/4---> tank


I know cpr's reputation but ive never had a problem in 5 years with this guy.
