sump for a 300 gallon tank

Bigger is better, but not necessarily needed.
I think 75 gallons would be much more than enough, in fact 50 gallons would do perfectly. Your call.

i have thought of doin a refugium if i went with a 5ft sump i could use as much as 3ft of it for refugium in it would be plants and may try ghost shrimp by the hundreds possibly feeders also if only i knew what to do with them when they breed hmmmm oh the possibilities i already have lights and a co2 setup from a previous planted tank and the nitrates some hygro or the such remove is amazing im open to ideas so start typin thanx for everything guys
