Hi guys

I am getting ready to set up my 220 and I was hoping to get some help on my sump.

I am planning on using seachem matrix for the bio media.

is it ok if I just stack it on the bottom of the sump? I am thinking about 10-12 inches deep along the bottom of the sump?
Should it be raised off the bottom?

is there benefit to adding oxygen or possibly an internal filter to the sump?

It’s fine to stack it. Don’t need to be raised off the bottom. No need to add oxygen or internal filter. Make sure u use filters or socks as the water enters the sump.

You could also place the matrix in mesh bags too. It's helpful if you need to move around for sump maintenance, etc.

what kind of sump are you using? I'm in my planning stage right now for a 215 gallon and want to have a full plumbed setup with a sump, would love to see what you got going on!
