If you're really serious about making it silent look into Herbie and Beananimal overflow systems. They will take some extra holes and plumbing though.

I like clear hose because you don't need corner pieces or 3-way pieces. Also because you don't need an exact length just an oproximation.

i was watching some diy sumps and was wondering how there is som much pressure coming from the overflows into the sump?
