And then open it once it starts to flow? How do you know it's flowing if it's closed off?

I want to order my heater, what should I get. I was going to get http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3743+19369&pcatid=19369, but didn't know if that would be too much for the sump and would be enough to heat the whole tank.
Which AZOO Ti Heater were you referring to?
300 watt or 500 watt?

It would kinda help to know the ambient temp (room temp), that the tank will be in and the desired temp that you'll be keeping the tank at... basically how many degrees you have to overcome and maintain...

This kinda bothers me personally...

*When the heater is in operation, do not place hands in the water. Always unplug the heater before placing your hands in the aquarium.

I only use STEALTH heaters...http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3743+12060&pcatid=12060
I really like this feature

***UL-Listed and one of the safest heaters available.

As far as temp, the tank will primarily be setup for a stingray. My room can get cold at times. I was looking at the 500 watt heater, but that seems to no be the greatest heater. That is all I really need to get, to get the tank running. I still need a top and lights...

So a 250 watt and a 200 watt? http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...0&pcatid=12060

should they both be put into the sump?
