I would ditch the drip tray and bioballs and replace with filter socks... as you have it, there is going to be a lot detritus build up in the bio ball area and nitrates will be a problem. You need something mechanical to catch the waste before it hits your bio media, otherwise it will get very dirty very quickly.

You could probably get by with just the red bio media you have drawn, if it's ceramic rings or something unless you're planning to have it heavily stocked.

That single overflow may not be large enough for the size pump your using. You may need to break off every other tooth on the over flow. Is there four 1.5" drains in the overflow or just two 1.5" drains?
I agree with the above filter sock statement. My sumps are very clean do to setting up a mechanical filter before the bio filter. Anyway, my 2 cents, keep us posted on the progress.

i have some filter padding above the drip trays... maybe i could do one side bioballs the other side filter sock because i have a filter sock built for the sump...

btw ill go take some pics of the sumps right now and maybe a pic or 2 of the inside of the overflow and inside the stand

so you think i should kick out some of my overflows teeth? lol?

Turn on the pump and see if it's going to overflow the tank first. You may not have enough drain capacity with the 1.5 inch drains and you would just have to throttle back the pump a little.

If the filter padding is easy to get to then keep your system. This is my "bio tower" on my 360. I have two 1.5" drains going into it. The filter pad takes less that a minute to change lol. I have to change it every 3 days with all that water flowing through it so it's important to me to be real easy to maintain.

^^ your system looks pretty failsafe since the tower is higher than the water line in your tank.

I would be concerned in the OP's pic, if the pad gets clogged it will be spilling onto the floor in no time since there's not much extra height. That's the nice thing about socks, if they clog they spill over into the sump, not the floor.
