i might just kick off the overflow and drill some more holes if theres space in there. if not i can just buy another overflow
 
im just going to buy another overflow.... because even if i get 1 extra drain thats still not enough so i might as well use that hole as a return..
then for the other overflow im not going to waste my breath drilling a return line through the bottom, instead ill put the return through the top of the tank like you said to do...
 
how about i just buy you guys some plane tickets down to here and supply you with the money/tools...

OK, I wasn't following this thread last night - but I have a question for you:

Why would you make all these changes to your system just to have the Hammerhead rather than going with a smaller pump like the super dart gold as aldiaz suggested. The smaller pump will provide plenty of turnover, use less electricity, and is probably cheaper to buy. If you go with the smaller pump, your drains won't need to be changed at all, maybe cut out a couple teeth on the overflow but that's it.


I think if you go with the hammerhead you're going to have a hard time getting enough water into your sump to keep up with it.

Hi Sam- you mentioned you "built the tank around this pump" but if that statement were true, would you really need to be making all these changes in order to make it work?

Bigger is not always better. Let go of the idea of the Hammerhead and make your life easier.

I'm sure your parents will appreciate the lower cost of running the Super Dart Gold versus the Hammerhead...it's also cheaper to purchase and it is going to give you plenty of flow (as dx mentioned).

Assuming you pay the national average of about $0.11 per KWHr, the Hammerhead would cost you around $25 per month, versus about $14 per month with the Super Dart Gold.
