orthopod, do you have a pic of your sump? Hard to tell the orientation if we cant see it.

I did less than extensive research, but more than extensive mopping as well, and can vouch for the gasket going on the flange side.

+1 except my research was towards mopping and less on the thinking end............. gasket on the flange side for sure!

I just have to mention how jealous I am that you have the original stand. I had to purchase an aftermarket one. I like it and everything, but the stock one has the stainless accents to match the canopy.

It looks like your drain lines come together with hard plumbing into a T. Do they merge into 1 drain line?
