So a "few" at $22 is $44 or $66. 1 4 Liter bucket of Pond Matrix at $31 is less than that. But the Bio Media is too expensive? When you say "Bio Media", you mean the Pond Matrix I linked?

I can see getting the Pond Matrix for $31. And I can see getting 1 of the Pumice mix for $22 to save some money, hoping it's exactly the same thing as Pond Matrix. But, I can't see why you'd spend more money for more Pumice than you need, and submit as rationale for the decision that "Bio Media is too expensive".

$22 for 3.5 gallons vs $31 for how many lists of pond matrix?

That's why I asked earlier how much would I need in my 55 gallon sump. I never got a response. I was under the impression that I need a lot of it, like over 20 pounds of it.

So would 12 pounds of ceramic rings and 7 gallons of Pumice stone be considered too much Bio Media for my sump?

Nah, man. You got a response.

Click the "Instructions" tab, it tells you. Also, if you look at the "Ingredients" tab, it supports other commenters' points about buying "pumice" stone, soil amendment, etc.

A search of MFK. Will tell you, I read a chart here about the surface area of different medias, and liters needed.
The ones I remember are plastic, k1, bioballs, and fluidized, wet/dry stuff.
I would say an one cuft, 7.48 gallons of pumice would easily do. 250 gallon,
Some one will point you in the right direction.

If Two pounds of fine beach sand can support a 25 pound live fish load, in a reactor, then 20 pounds of pumice would support, A small POD of dolphins.
