make one your self. The pre made acrylic sumps are crazy expensive.

As i stated before my woodworking skills are not that great. Does anyone have a recomendation for a pump and what size HOB overflow i would need for this 105 Gal tank?

Anyone think setting up the filter canisiter or sump with the intake on one side and the return on the other is a good idea?

Maybe with the return having a spray bar? Yes or No

thank you for everyones help more detail in what your think would be great. The whole get a sump aint helping much being that there is more to just getting the sump tank.

x2

I'm not a handcraft guy whatsoever, but turning a spare 15g into a sump was pretty easy with advice from this site!

I would love to be able to make my own. Maybe I should of stayed awake in shop class years ago. The only thing i remember how to do is fiberglass and welding. i could do fiberglass but it takes way to much time and my job don't provide that time to do it at this time. The good thing is i am only in the planning stages for getting this tank up and running. so i thought i would post this to get other peoples opinions on these items. I am still doing my research besides what i hope to hear from everyone on here. Please let me know what you think on the questions i asked being that i will not be building a sump if that is what i decide to go with at this time. thank you everyone for posting and please keep it coming.

sump are relatively easy get a tank and some acrylic dividers and some weld on its like glue search on here diy sumps and make yours to your liking after viewing some other ones. for your pump you will want it to be of equal or less then the rating of your overflow. its the best way to go but if your lacking in the diy skills or don't see yourself making a sump setup then simply get a canister filter and fallow the instructions. most canisters work for saltwater setups too but you might want a skimmer in the future i believe they make some hang on back ones too not to sure as i keep fresh water tanks. you might be able to contact someone to build you a sump and install it but they will probably charge you an arm and a leg $$$ look around yellow pages and local fish shops too see what's best for you

I think I am in the worst area of Florida for LFS's. I have yet to find one with nice fish. What every I decide to get to stock the tank I think i will have to mail order.
